SLAM! 12u: Up, Running & Ready

The SLAM! 12u program is live and working hard.
After a great turnout during late summer try outs, the SLAM! girls made their debut at the End of Summer Celebration tournament in Federal Way on October 1st and 2nd. For many of the players, this was their first experience in a tournament setting and was a great way for the girls to bond as a team and get their feet wet in tournament play.
The team now turns their focus toward their indoor winter conditioning regime with the goal of being faster, stronger and ready to take on the competition in the spring.

The SLAM! went 5-0 this weekend and the bats were ablaze! Dana had a 3 run HR in the title game versus the Mosquito Squad to put the SLAM! ahead for good in international tiebreaker. Big kudos to Nicole for pitching through a little pain. All in all, a great showing for the new SLAM! team. All 3 of the new team members had great weekends! Next up for the SLAM! is hopefully a friendly double-header next Sunday followed by the SLAM! Fall Finale!

Enjoy the highlights of the 5-3 victory by the SLAM! over the Hurricanes 96 squad from the ASA Combat / Washington State Games Tournament. It was a hard-fought battle with Faith providing some timely hitting, Dana providing 5 solid innings and Nicole coming in to close. The girls played tremendous defense during the game as you’ll see in the video. The Canes are a great team and fought hard the whole game. It was a back and forth game with a fun final inning!

< SLAM! -vs- Acers Highlights>
The SLAM! got off to a nice start with weekend with a come-from-behind 5-3 victory against the Hurricanes 96 behind the stellar pitching of Dana “The Container” with Nick coming in to close. Next up was the Acers. Boy it’s been a while since we played them. The Acers are always a tough matchup, but this time the SLAM! got off to a quick 5-0 start and Nick held the Acers scoreless the rest of the way for a 6-0 complete game shutout.
The SLAM! was then defeated by the scrappy Rijo 97 club on Sunday morning 10-8.
